Saúl Alveano is a specialist in sustainable mobility and road safety, with a proven track record of leading transformative projects and public policies across Mexico, Latin America, and Africa. His work spans both governmental and non-governmental sectors, where he has consistently championed safer, more equitable urban mobility.

As General Director of Road Safety at the Ministry of Transport in Jalisco, Mexico, Saúl led a dedicated team committed to advancing road safety at the state level. Notably, he played a pivotal role in introducing the Safe System approach within the State Road Safety Committee, serving as its Secretary General, marking a significant milestone in Jalisco’s efforts to reduce traffic fatalities and improve street design. Before his tenure in the state government, Saúl served as Road Safety Manager at the World Resources Institute (WRI) Mexico, where he spearheaded a wide range of sustainable transport initiatives across Mexico, broader Latin America, and Africa.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michoacán and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara
