Mexican, originally from the state of Colima. Doctor in City, Territory and Sustainability, at the University of Guadalajara (Program of the National Register of Quality Postgraduate Programs, CONACYT), former PRODEP fellow. Since 1994 he collaborates with the University of Colima, initially and until 2004 as Technical Secretary of the University Center for Environmental Management, and since 2004 as a full-time lecturer research, at the School of Tourism, the University of Colima. He is a lecturer in undergraduate and graduate academic programs, in the areas of sustainability and tourism, as well as director of various undergraduate, specialty and master's theses. In 2005, he obtained the “Miguel Álvarez del Toro” State Prize for Ecology by the Government of the State of Colima.
