He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) and holds a PhD in Urban Planning from UNAM. He is a senior researcher at UdeG, a member of the National System of Researchers of CONACYT Level 2, Director of Gleason Consulting and the Lic. Arturo Gleason Santana Institute for Water Technological Research A.C. (IITAAC), and President of the Mexican Association of Rainwater Harvesting Systems, A.C. (AMSCALL). He has written several books on the topic of water and developed various research, consulting, and social impact projects through the various institutions he supports. Dr. Gleason has given lectures and courses in Germany, the Netherlands, England, Serbia, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, China, Brazil, Argentina, and Africa, to name some countries, where he shares his knowledge and experiences in the field of water management. He participated in the 2023 World Water Summit at the UN Headquarters in New York. In 2024, he completed a research sabbatical at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
